Float By Fernando Brizio

A minimalistic and natural alternative to unstylish humidifier machines, Float by Fernando Brizio is part of a new collection of ceramic humidifiers, designed as useable objects and furniture pieces.

A simple white ceramic bottle becomes a humidifier system when teamed with a float, a black wooden sphere and – of course – water. The bottle is placed on the radiator, and uses its heat to control humidity through the natural evaporation of water. When the evaporation process is finished, the wooden sphere completely closes the bottle.

Float is one of the new ceramic objects in the Il COCCIO Design Edition. Coordinated by Giulio Iacchetti, the 2010 Design Edition will include the launch of the new edition of the famous Fischietto humidifier, designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1998 for IL COCCIO, together with new ceramic objects by other, equally well-known designers from the international scene: Marco Ferreri, Monica Förster, Alfredo Häberli, Giulio Iacchetti, Alberto Meda, Denis Santachiara, Patricia Urquiola.
